Cleaning completed

After completing the paint stripping, the Catalina was towed to another hangar where she was cleaned under high pressure to remove any residual paint stripper, which is very corrosive. The entire surface and especially control surface mounting areas had to be pressure cleaned.

The surface area will be coated with Alodine, which is a conversion coating that prepares the polished aluminium for primer.

The Catalina will next be towed back to our hangar for internal and structural restoration.
